On 27 April 1969, Ordnance Platoon had a man seriously injured at the Dong
Ha Sand Ramp. He attempted to put out a fire that had started on an M- 53,
155MM, SP Gun that was being shipped on the R & E program. The man received
burns over 90% of his body. He has been recommended for an award. (Passed
